Exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian diplomatic service

A solemn opening ceremony of the exhibition and stamp cancellation, timed to the 100th anniversary of the modern Belarusian diplomatic service, will take place on January 22 at 5 pm at the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

The event is organized by the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus.

The exposition will present photographs and documents from the collection of the Center of the History of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Belarusian diplomatic service, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency, the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian State Archive of Cinema and Photo Documents, revealing the history of the formation and development of the diplomatic service of our country.

Photographic materials are dedicated to significant historical events, such as the signing of the Charter of the United Nations, the ratification of the Agreement on the establishment of the Union of Independent States, the conclusion of the first agreements on the establishment of diplomatic relations with foreign countries, as well as well–known statesmen: A.G. Chervyakov, K.V. Kiselev, A.E. Gurinovich and others.

Special attention will be paid to the unique documents and personal belongings of Belarusian diplomats, whose names are included in the history of our country, from the funds of the National Historical Museum and the Center for the History of the Foreign Ministry. Among them are business cards, work books and official passports of diplomats, a block of UN stamps about Belarus, badges, seals and stamps, publications, etc. A separate section will be devoted to the participation of Belarus in UNESCO.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei, Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus Konstantin Shulgan. Among the guests are the ex–heads of foreign affairs agencies, heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations in Belarus, veterans of the diplomatic service.
