"Netanya–Minsk" exhibition

On July 12, the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus will hold the opening of the "Netanya–Minsk" exhibition. The graphics of the famous Belarusian–Israeli artist Iosif Kapelyan.

The "Netanya–Minsk" graphic exhibition is coincided with the birthday of the master, who turned 82 on July 4. There are 19 graphic works in different techniques. Prints of Iosif Kapelyan show sublime and spiritual perception of the surrounding world.

Iosif Kapelyan was born in Bobruisk in 1936. From 1952 to 1956, he was studying at the Leningrad Art and Graphic Pedagogical School, then entered the Graphics Department of the Belarusian Theater and Art Institute in Minsk. The artist is the author–designer of more than 130 books.

In 1980, Iosif Kapelyan moved to Israel, where he continues to work as a graphic artist at the Institute of Archeology of the University of Tel Aviv. He is engaged in public activities: he is one of the founders of the unique village of artists "Sa–Nur" in Samaria, becomes the first chairman of the Association of Professional Artists of Israel.

Iosif Kapelyan is versatile artist. Viewers are amazed at his relentless creative search. There is a variety of themes and techniques in his works. He created a large number of watercolors, paintings, working in the genre of portrait, landscape and still life. There are more than 40 personal and about 240 group exhibitions. Art museums of Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Azerbaijan, Croatia have his works.

In 2016, Iosif Kapelyan received the International Prize award named after Nicholas Roerich in the State Hermitage of St. Petersburg.

The exposition will work until August 5.
