Director of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Sapotko visits China

On May 18, the Director of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Sapotko took part in the International Forum of Museum Managers held at the Shanghai Historical Museum as part of the International Museum Day.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus and the Shanghai Historical Museum, a number of working meetings were held with the leadership of the Shanghai Art Museum, EXPO Museum and the Suzhou Museum, as well as negotiations with the Vice President of the International Council of Museums of ICOM An Laishun, director of the National Museum of Liechtenstein Rainer Volkomer, curator of special projects of the Vantaa City Museum (Finland) Karina Yatinen, and others.

The visit, organized with the assistance of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Shanghai, helped to strengthen partner contacts with Chinese colleagues, familiarize with the experience of cultural institutions and tourism industry subjects in the popularization of the historical heritage of the PRC regions, and study the economic component of the museum industry in China.
